About me...
Hi, my name is Tim Borowy and I am a year old creative developer from Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Currently I am busy tackling a HBO education called Creative Media and Game Technologies, or CMGT, at the Hogeschool Rotterdam University of applied sciences.
Before that I have completed my MBO education “media ontwikkeling” at Zadkine (or Techniek College Rotterdam as it is now called). During my 3 years there I worked on becoming the best webdeveloper I could be. Looking back now and hearing from my co-students now I learned quite a bit and have gathered a lot of knowledge that is very useful now.
In my free time I usually am:
- Experimenting with programming languages, new methods or libraries
- Making unique lamps
- Messing around with electronics or Arduino
- Riding mountainbikes
- Building random things like trebuchets
What I do
Like I said I am working on becoming the best CMGT-er of my year but I still have about 4 years to do that so no rush. Right now, what interests me is bringing hardware and software together by creating "smart devices", "IOT solutions", "interactive installations", "more buzzwords 🙃". Sounds very cliche but I think my work has more impact when people can touch and physically interact with the things I have created. That's the reason I'm combining my skills from software development with my hobby of "Making".
Where I come from
I have lived my whole live in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, a town near Rotterdam. It's a great town if you want to get bored quickly. The most exciting thing about my town is that if the dikes break, out houses will be most flooded of the whole country (yay). That's the reason I'm usually found in the city of Rotterdam which is the greatest "rotstad" there is.
